Bio: Ian builds tools to understand societal, economic, and financial risks from extreme events in a changing climate. As the Principal Quantitative Engineer at Reask, he blends physical simulations of extreme weather under climate change with projections of economic impact. After leaving GPL and before Reask, he built models for physical climate risks in the financial sector at Rhodium Group and BlackRock. His work on coastal climate risk has appeared in a wide range of academic, industry, and policy-oriented outlets.
