Bio: Stephan is a Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar at the Global Policy Lab at Stanford University, funded by a grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from ETH Zurich and has previously worked in Switzerland, Germany, and Sweden. Stephan's research connects political and environmental economics with related fields, integrating economic methods with insights from geography, history, political science, and environmental sciences. His studies address pivotal societal challenges, including resource allocation, natural disaster management, land use, migration, polarization, and the energy transition.
